I'll update my review and possibly change the number of stars (initially 2 stars) when (if?) my son gets his results for ADHD and autism testing. I was initially told 12 weeks, which I already thought was a fairly long time. I called when the 12 week mark came and went and was then told that doesn't include holidays. Okay, fair enough - Thanksgiving and Christmas were in that timeframe, as my son completed testing on 10/25/24. So I figured Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day amount to about a week. I called at the 14 week mark and was told that allowing for holidays, vacations, court hearings (remember that previously, it was only holidays) puts us as only the 10 week mark! That means that basically an entire month was taken for holidays, etc.!!! I understand that people are entitled to time off, but at every job I've ever worked, vacations are scheduled with business needs in the forefront. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that this isn't the case for Arbor Center, especially considering that they don't sell to even have a receptionist! I said, "Okay, so we're looking at about two more weeks then?" She then said that 12 weeks was only an estimate. They just keep moving the goal post! I'm really hoping that my son's results will be accurate and comprehensive enough to justify the long wait and, as I mentioned, I will update my review if that is the case. But as of right now, I'm really wishing I'd checked out the reviews prior to bringing my son there. It was a referral from his primary care provider, who is wonderful so I just assumed the place he sent why son to would be as well. Unfortunately, this is not the case. TLDR - this place takes what accounts to a week off every month, so don't come here unless you have plenty of time to wait! UPDATE: After one day shy of 17 weeks (which the center counts as 12 due to holidays, vacations, court dates, etc.), I finally received my son's evaluation results! The results are provided via a scheduled phone call with the doctor where he goes over the findings and asks some questions to help inform the final report that is sent 48 hours later via email. The phone call was on a Thursday at 11:00am, so I assumed that I'd receive the report on Monday. I was pleasantly surprised when I actually received it on that Saturday at 6:00pm. The phone call lasted 25 minutes and the doctor was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I was given ample time to ask questions and the doctor gave me his email address in case I had any questions or concerns receiving the report. The report itself was 75 pages and was very detailed. It is emailed as a PDF so it cannot be altered in any way. It both provides clinical findings and details and explains them to the layperson. The results confirmed my assumptions regarding my child's psychological symptoms/issues. Overall, I'm comfortable changing my rating of Arbor Mental Health Center from two stars to four stars. While they could definitely work on their communication, both internally and with customers/clients, and the wait time was a bit excessive, the actual evaluation was great. My son was evaluated in a reasonable and comfortable manner and the results were accurate and comprehensive. Had they better communicated the length of the wait time and were more organized with logging calls and emails, I would give them five stars. After posting my initial review, they actually reached out to me to get my detailed feedback and asked how I thought they could have improved my experience. To be clear, they did NOT ask me to change my review or pressure me to do so. My initial review included that I would update it once I received my child's results. I would recommend Arbor Mental Health Center to anyone who needs a comprehensive evaluation and neuro-psych testing. Although the wait time may be on the longer end, they do provide quality in exchange for patience.
