Tim, Jay, Brett, and the team from the top on down were all always extremely available and communicative through the whole process--and we were probably pretty demanding customers! Yet their professionalism, clear language, and willingness to coordinate a difficult project stood out as above and beyond expectations.
Our project included foundation and retaining wall settling with nearly two dozen micropiles both inside and outside our home. The care they took to mitigate impacts while doing such invasive work was exceptional, and they were on schedule throughout (a rarity in our experience!). Further, we shopped several options for our repair and Foundation Systems Hawaii was one of the better quotes; despite having limited options on island for such intensive work, their price was more than fair. Again, exceptional value for the quality of service.

No homeowner wants to deal with foundation issues but working with the team at FSH was ironically pleasant for a home issue that has plagued my conscience. I put the repair on hold for years due to not feeling confident of finding the right contractor for the job until I discovered FSH.
From the onset, working with Wade to diagnose the issue and him submitting a proposal clearly elineating the scope of work was much appreciated. The precarious nature of below grade work is always on the mind since you can't see the finished product as it's buried in the soil. The inability to see the micropile used to stabilize my cracked retaining rock wall was concerning but the proposal and the clear explanations by FSH brought comfort knowing what was happening.
In addition to the micropile work, my living and dining room floor was sagging nearly 2" over a span of 14'. The work crew of Danny, Wayne & Maka worked to level the floor and replumb nearly ten 4x4 posts and a handful of floor joists...all while crawling in a very tight crawl space and not complaining.
The clear communication and quality work knowing things are done right provides peace of mind.

Tim and the team at Foundation Systems Hawaii really went above and beyond for me. If you want your foundation work done right with very high peace of mind, then Tim's team is really the only choice on this island.
My house is 70 years old in Palolo and has significant lean due to the softer soil it sits on. I got 10 different quotes from other foundation companies, contractors, and structural architecture firms, and got a whole range of prices and solutions from all of them. I actually ended up choosing another foundation company because their price was closer to my budget range even though I knew Foundation System's solution would have been the best choice.
When it came time for the other company to start the work, they called me and said they actually aren't able to complete the job and offered me a refund.... I panicked and contacted Tim right away. Immediately after speaking with him, I felt better. He said he would meet me personally at my property to assess the situation and see what they can do to work with my budget.
I don't know about you, but I don't know many organizations where the CEO personally comes out to house calls to help their customers - this felt really personalized and I can honestly say I felt taken care of throughout the whole process.
Tim understood that I was on a tight deadline, and was able to get his guys to start work within a week and they finished within 3 days. I can't tell you the kind of relief I had knowing that his team came and drilled 5 micropiles 12 feet into the ground to hit bedrock, then go 5 feet deeper on all corners of my house. They also used their tie-back system to hold up one of the side walls that actually acts as a retaining wall for the other building on the property that sits higher on the hill.
At the end of the day, this house is never moving again, and I owe it all to the wonderful team at Foundation Systems of Hawaii. The price is totally worth it - I'd pay it again in a second just for the professionalism, personalization, care, technology, and expertise that this company provides.
If you're serious about stabilizing your home, just call them. I promise you'll feel a lot better.

Foundation Systems Hawaii did a stellar job on re-levelling our home. Wade made the initial visit to provide an estimate. We were a bit surprised that the work would take only two days, but that's exactly how long it took. During the project, the crew showed up exactly on time and communicated any concerns they had. Some parts of our home had to be brought up almost 6 inches, and some additional plumbing work was needed. We also have an outdoor staircase that needs to be replaced after the re-levelling, and they worked around that. Tim Mort was onsite the first day and was very pleasant to talk to.
When the project was done, the crew made sure that all our cabinets and doors would open and close. One door would not close even with adjustments, so Wade came by the next day to sand it down. The crew cleaned up nicely and put things back as they had been before the project started. Casey asked me to walk around the house to make sure I was happy with everything.

For such an unexpected and unwanted repair, Foundation Systems made this whole process actually stress free. Wade came out to my property to do an estimate and answered all my questions and concerns. I received my quote and they started within 2 days of receiving the approval. The crew arrived on time and was super about explaining what they were doing and completed the job in record time. I did not realize what a tough job it would be stabilizing the foundation of our 65 year old home sitting on "soft" soil Communication was good with all involved; management to crew, with contractor and myself as homeowner. Workers knew their individual tasks and seemed to work well together. They treated my property with respect, cleaning up well after each work day and at the end of the project.Crew was always friendly, greeting me and my family and always letting me know at the end of the day that they were leaving. I appreciated that FSH did not cash my down payment until work began and did not ask for full payment until completion.A side note: When the guys knew it would be a noisy day with the machinery were thoughtful and asked if I wanted earplugs. On another thoughtful gesture, there was a small plant growing right where they were going to dig so one of the guys dug out the plant and replanted into a pot. ( plant is doing well.)

I needed to do some termite repair to my wood support beams. I went to a website for contractors to get some estimates. Out of the three that showed up, none turned in a proposal. I saw the tv ad for Foundation System and called them. Wade Whaley met me and looked over the job site. A few weeks later, I received a proposal which I thought was a reasonable price. I had been interviewing other contractors in the mean time and as I noted previously, none gave me a proposal. This took almost a month before I was able to decide on using Foundation Systems. There were no changes in price or language.
After the work was done, I inspected the repairs and was very happy with the results. Wade and the whole staff are very friendly and professional. They return calls quickly and answer all questions.
In today's environment, this is a company that stands out in every aspect of their service. It's the old style of doing business, saying what they will do and then doing a good job to complete it on time and on budget. No add ons later to try and get more work and money.

I highly recommend Foundation Systems Hawaii. We had 6 driven piles installed on the end of our home to address settlement issues. We had a great experience from the beginning to the end of the project. Wade gave us a very fair estimate and did not try to sell us on anything more than what we needed to fix the settlement issue.
There was one complication with the project. We had contaminated soil which had to be disposed of properly. The owner, Tim Mort, was in regular communication with me regarding this issue. We decided to go through with the additional steps of getting the soil tested and properly disposed of, which had additional costs. However, I felt that Tim was fair to not charge us any extra for the extra service hours it took to do these additional steps. He only forwarded the charges from the testing company and disposal fees.
All the guys on site (Foreman Daniel, Steven and Marcus) seemed to be very experienced with installing driven piles. They also handled the contaminated soil and subterranean water flow with great care and efficiency. They left our property clean at the end of each workday. We started the project within a week of signing the contract and it only took 3 days to complete. They were very accommodating when we had a mover deliver a sofa the same day of construction. They moved their trucks and offered to help without any issues.
Overall we had a great experience with them and highly recommend them to anyone.

The work that needed to be done to our home was pretty substantial. Daniel and his crew were efficient, courteous, and very helpful. They tried their best to minimize the inconveniences that necessarily arise during a project of this nature. For example, they helped us move furniture around from room to room and when the work was completed, they put everything back in their original location. The work was completed on time and the company was great about following up with us to ensure that everything went smoothly. In fact they even came back to the house to pick up a few rolls of carpet that they couldn’t fit in their truck. Overall, we had a very positive experience.
