I cannot emphasize how amazing this place is enough, I recommend this place to every breastfeeding mama who’s having a hard time! Dr. Cara is very kind, patient, knowledgeable, experienced, and a really good listener. My daughter had a frenectomy at another popular practice and I was really stressed about it reattaching, I wasn’t taught how to do the stretches and I wasn’t getting any help or guidance from the other place, just a recommendation to see an IBCLC. I am SO glad we saw Dr. Cara, she was able to squeeze us in quickly and help so much it actually brought me to tears. I wish we had done the procedure with her in the first place. If you are struggling and stressing about where to go or what to do just start here, they have everything a breastfeeding mom could need. Dr. Cara does an excellent job! She answers all questions in detail and is very informative. I had my girls oral ties revised years ago and then my second child’s revised as well. I can not say enough great things about this practice! I was frantic trying to get my 3 day old son to latch. I was an absolute mess. I called in hopes of getting a very last minute appointment and the ladies up front were extremely accommodating and got me in right away. I was lucky enough to meet both Kerri and Dr. Cara at our visit. Kerri went above and beyond to answer all our questions. She worked with us for as long as it took to get baby relaxed, his tummy settled, and be able to latch. She never once made us feel rushed. Dr. Cara stopped in to help as well and equally as wonderful! This practice and these ladies were miraculous in getting our breastfeeding journey off to a great start. Super thankful for Dr. Cara and her team. We worked with Camera for my sons tongue and lip tie a few months ago. Not only did she assess our situation in detail, she spent the time explaining benefits of the procedure. It was so beneficial to me. Dr. Cara also took such good care of our boy twice now, once with tongue and lip ties which healed beautifully and she also took off an ear tag he had. She was so kind and made sure to ask if we had any questions. Emily Barnes LC and Dr. Cara saved our baby from his reflux misery (and so much more) I can not recommend both of them enough. If your infant struggles with reflux please read!! After countless GI and pediatrician appointments regarding his silent reflux we were told "he will grow out of it" and were put on two different medications which neither ever really worked. Not to mention having to Increase these medication doses multiple times whenever I would call and let them know my guy was still in so much pain! After he started having an aversion to my breasts from the pain of the acid in his throat while eating, I decided to make a lactation appointment as a last ditch effort to get support with pumping and breastfeeding. Within 5 MINUTES of Emily looking at our 4 month old she found he had a fairly severe tongue tie, lip tie, AND buccal tie and looked us confidently in the face saying that's what's causing the reflux. I was hesitant but wanted to be hopeful. She made it so easy- before she left our house that Sunday she had us booked at 8 am the next morning with dr. cara to get it taken care of. She also provided us with a bottle that my son loves just as much as breastfeeding (he would choke down milk on the dr. Browns prior to this) and a probiotic that allows our son to poop everyday without the stool softener GI prescribed since his reflux medication causes constipation. Long story short dr. Cara did a thorough job of showing us each tie during an examination and Emily was there with our son while he was getting his ties revised and has constantly followed up almost daily the first week to see how we were doing. I have never had this much support with any doctors. Within days of the revision my sons reflux disappeared 95% of symptoms were gone- he had been swallowing so much air from a poor latch that it had been causing acid to come back up. This somehow went un-noticed by countless doctors including one that specializes in reflux and one that works at an office with a tongue tie clinic in it. As a first time mom I have been told to cut out diary, soy, gluten, eggs, and nuts from my diet all while it could have been solved with a simple oral exam! Emily literally has saved our baby from so much pain and me from feeling hopeless. He is now relaxed during feeds and is slowly gaining weight again. Emily continues to work with me and help support me in trying to get my little guy back to breastfeeding but for now, exclusively pumping and having my baby in no pain is already a dream come true!
