I started going to Dr. Zarei when I lived in Coralville, because it was close and convenient. My wife had to have some dental work done, and she was really impressed with his skills and his pain management. Dr. Zarei told me that dental work should not hurt. If it hurts, they will find another way to do it. I've since moved further away, but I keep coming back. He is good. He knows his stuff. He is up to date on all of the latest techniques. I would highly recommend Dr. Zarei.
2022 Update -- it really bothers me that the insurance companies care more about their bottom line, than whether the people that pay for the insurance get good dental care. Dr Afsie is wonderful!
He was patient and kind, answered all my questions.
I was seen and treated in a week.
I did not have any pain during the procedure or at home afterwards.
He has a sense of humor and a contagious smile.

I have terrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I went 5 + years without a cleaning and many more with cavities and a chipped tooth. Last week I had an old filling fall out from my front tooth. I was instantly terrified but knew I needed to find a dentist. I read DR. Z’s reviews and after days of texting back and forth with him I was finally ready to take the leap. When my husband and I arrived Dr. Z was so kind. He took the time to talk to me and he continued to talk and keep me calm through the entire procedure. I plan to continue treatment with Dr.Z. If you're looking for a dentist and dental team that makes you feel like family, look no further. Dr. Zarei has an upbeat personality that makes my family feel appreciated and welcome. They go above and beyond to make kiddos feel comfortable at the dentist. My kids love going and always leave with a smile on their faces. Every time I go, I always walk right in and they take me back almost instantly. They don't make you wait for an hour like so many offices do. Dr. Zarei is very involved in the care of your teeth, he is there from start to finish, he even walks you to the door! They educate you on what is going on in your mouth, then let you decide what you would like to do, no pressure at all. I always have so many laughs while I'm there. You can tell that they enjoy their work and that's so rare to find. If you live in the Coralville/Iowa City area and you need a dentist, I highly recommended checking out Afsie Dental.
