My daughter and I had the BEST experience at the Game World located on W 3rd Street in Bloomington. I am terrible with names, the receipt says AP, but this gentleman in store was so kind, funny, chill and relatable to both my daughter and myself despite the difference in what games we were looking for. He’s full of knowledge and takes his time with customers. It would be awesome if more businesses were operated by people like him! Thank you for great support, conversation, and experience!

Great place to buy and sell games. Alan (i think that was his name) was really nice and helpful. I dropped off a box of stuff to sell and he was very quick, same day and took everything!

Went to game world for the first time and it’s the best place you can go to for any gaming needs! Every generation of console, game and accessory. Ari helped me out and she was very sweet and hilarious. Great place to go to!

Both locations of this store are wonderful. The selection of vintage fighting games -- my specific cup of tea -- could use improvements. But the overall breadth in the collection of games, supply of hardware, and diversity of collectors items is truly impressive. Selection of consoles in this location is particularly broad, though they are in short supply and sell fast! Consoles that have been tested for operation are labeled as such on the price tag, which lets us make more informed decisions about the hardware. The two employees who were there today (4/15/26) were very helpful, supportive, and kind. They also have a large selection of DVDs/Blurays!

Nice selection of new and used hardware, games and accessories, and the employees are great. I cant recall their names for the life of me (my own fault! bad memory!) but i was in on 3/18/26 in the late afternoon and both employees present were wonderfully helpful and kind! Please give them both bonuses. They left a great impression and I will definitely be back.

They have really fair pricing on consoles, and in really good condition too. I got a sega genesis, but they have so much stuff. Alan is awesome, I saw all kinds of games I didn’t even know existed and he gave me a ton of info just off the top of his head. Didn’t even have to look it up! These guys are super nice and wildly passionate about games. I find myself going in there a bunch just because the environment is so refreshing. 10/10 recommend

They recommended 2-player games being thoughtful to ask if it was online or couch co-op and then helped looked for Pokemon figurines we were specifically looking for. I love Game World. They're one of the best local game shops I've had the pleasure of going to for years, including buying and selling games. I especially want to give shout-outs to Alan and Virgil, as their friendly faces are the ones I recognize and look for every time I visit, since they've worked there for as long as I've been shopping at GW. They're never shy about asking if I need help or teaching me more about the games I love. I keep hoping GW will host a booth at the ITCE each August. Maybe 2025 will be the year!

This is the place to go for retro and even current gaming.The staff is always helpful, and they know about the games. On more than one occasion I have received helpful tips about the games I grab. I always get respectable value for your trade ins, and I often find hidden gems to spend the 25% boost.
