Dr. Hood has excellent bedside manners. He was so patient with me throughout the entire visit. He made me feel as if I could ask any question. He throughly explained everything concerning my treatment. I am so glad I came to his office.

I highly recommend Dr Hood! My knee had been hurting really bad for a couple weeks and his treatment plan had me feeling so much better in just two days... incredible! He really knows what he's doing and he is very kind and considerate and respectful. I couldn't ask for anything more. I just love him!
I went in because of an ongoing pain in my knee after having a meniscus tear. Dr. Mark Hood gave me my diagnosis, and presented options without pushing anything on me. This included not doing anything as far as treatment went. I felt very comfortable with a diagnosis and appreciated greatly that he was cognizant of any costs that the treatment options might incur. Even the receptionist was attentive to how my insurance would cover any costs. Overall, it was a wonderful doctor's visit.
Amazing doctor! He takes the time to really listen to you. He doesn’t rush you in to surgery. Kind, compassionate, and trusts that his patients listen to their bodies in the healing journey.

WOW! Just WOW! The doctor was amazing with my little girl who is normally very scared and timid. She was able to get her arm in a cast with out any crying or screaming. This is by far the best hospital experience I have ever had. If you're looking for the best, you found it.
Dr. Hood demonstrated a great deal of concern and compassion for for my medical situation. He made it clear from the start that he was prepared to present my situation in a very caring manner. He also made it clear that he was prepared to take whatever time was nessecary to explain my condition and the particulars of the surgical method he would be using. He answered all my questions (and my wife's) in a straightforward, but not connecending manner. It was obvious that he cared about me not just as a patient, but also as a person. He laid out the particulars of the procedure he would be using. He also went over alternate procedures indicating the pros and cons of each one. He also explained the type of hip replacement he planned to use and why he believed it to be the most advantageous type to use in my case. He also did not gloss over the possible problems that could occur during and after the surgery. He also pointed out the role PT would play in my recovery. I can contrast this to a previous visit and recommendation from another surgeon with another group. After looking a my x-rays, he came into the exam room and stated, "Well, you need a hip replacement, I'll have my nurse come in and set up a date." Then he got up and left the exam room. When his nurse came in a few moments later, I stated I would need to consider this a bit more. Needless to say, I have not darkened their door since. To be fair, he may well have been a surgical prodigy for all I know. But, to say he demonstrated no bedside manner would be a generous way to put it. The contrast between these to surgeons cold not have been more stark. So if you are at the point of needing a hip replacement, I would recommend you get several opinions from several surgeons. But I would certainly include Dr. Mark Hood as one of them.
I was very pleased with my appointment in Dr. Hood’s office on Monday, October 18, 2021. There was a bit of a wait after checking in, but nothing excessive (and I AM retired!). I also took advantage of pre-registering online and saved some time this way. Dr. Hood was very personable and answered all my questions; even allowing me to ramble a bit when relating my health history. I appreciated not being rushed and he seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. I am very encouraged in working with Dr. Hood to resolve my issues with bursitis. I’m a little confused about how physical therapy will start. My impression from the check-out nurse was that the PT office would contact me to schedule sessions but I have not heard from them yet. I plan to contact them tomorrow because I am anxious to begin the therapy.
Dr. Hood spent a lot of time explaining everything to me. I left there extremely pleased with my visit with him. I would definitely recommend him and would not hesitate to see him again.

Dr. Mark Hood is great!!!! I have worked in the medical field for 37+ years in urgent care, family practice and orthopedics ! I have also been on both sides of patient care and Dr. Hood’s knowlege,experience, and bedside manner gets an A+ from me!! I see Dr. Hood for arthritic knees and in 24-48 hours I had a 100% improvement in my knee pain after 1 visit!! This is without the use of narcotic pain medication!! His nurse Shelbi always has a smile on her face and responds to messages or calls very quickly!! Great Team!!
