Before closing on a new home my family & I purchased in Westfield, NJ, Safeway Home Inspection sent inspector Steve Verger to do the inspection & an oil tank sweep. Steve did an excellent & very detailed inspection that picked up on little issues before they become bigger issues. I have previously been through another home inspection with another company that didn't detect any of the issues I felt they should have. However, this company is so thorough. Steve left no stone unturned. He even let me know about more durable materials to consider using to replace the decaying wood with, which would require hardly any maintenance. Basically, he prioritized the urgency of certain repairs, & informed me of the expected service life of various things around the house. He explained which things are the most important to put money towards, versus what I could save money on, versus what could wait. It was wet & muddy outside due to rain the previous day, but that didn't deter him from walking through the mud to inspect every inch of the exterior of the house. He even put covers over his shoes to walk through & inspect every inch of the inside of the house. He then sent me a very detailed report. He even used a drone to inspect the roof, then used binoculars to magnify any problem areas the drone camera showed him. The money I spent on the home inspection has been well worth it!!! Steve taking the time to show & explain everything to me, really helps me feel prepared to properly maintain this new home & prepare the home for whatever nature or time throws at it. Thank you, Steve!!!

I cannot recommend Mike enough! He made the entire home inspection process incredibly approachable and actually fun. He did a fantastic job educating my wife and me without ever talking over our heads. Everyone at safeway was wonderful from initial point of contact all the way through my inspection report. Mike was so helpful on the phone, it it my first time buying a house so he talked me through the process and was honest about which add-ons he would/would not recommend for my property.
