I have seen 2 other orthopedic doctors and I have been so worried. Dr Hood is the 3rd orthopedic doctor that I've seen. The first time I went to see him, he was so knowledgeable. He gave me so much information that the ohther 2 doctors never even mentioned. Information that was so very vital to my health. I left feeling like I was in the right place. I just seen him yesterday for my first knee injections. I didn't feel any pain during the procedure.. He's really good. Not only is he very knowledgeable as an orthopedic doctor, but he has great bedside manners. I need a hip and both knees replaced eventually. I was so shocked to find that out but I know that I am in the best hands. That makes all the difference for me and my family.

I am able to walk 1 3/4 miles now. Before my surgery I wasn’t able to walk a1/4 of a mile. The pain from the bone on bone in my hip is gone. The only pain now is from rebuilding of muscle that was lost from not being able to walk or work from the pain of the damaged hip. 😁

Dr. Hood was extremely clear and knowledgeable in his communication with me, detailing what to expect from A to B, including post-op recovery. He cheerfully took the time to answer my list of questions, and gave helpful directives to support my post-op healing. In addition, he seems to be extremely skilled in closing the incision, resulting in a smooth, minimal scar.

Dr. Hood and staff did a wonderful job with my full hip replacement. After the initial consultation while looking at X-rays and discussing different options, I decided to go with the hip replacement. We discussed the injection and felt it wasn't a good fit for me. I am 6 weeks out, and so happy that I went forward with the surgery. Everything went well, the staff was there to answer my questions, and continue to be there through the healing process. I had gone to a competitor (OI), and they were no help. I'm so glad I got a second opinion and found Dr Hood. If I needed another hip replacement I would definitely come to him again.

The transformation and improvement I've had from the total hip replacement by Dr. Hood has been nothing short of a miracle. Over the course of 10 years or so, the pain in my hip increased so much that I could barely walk into a grocery store and back to my car without severe pain. My hip hurt constantly, so my activity levels decreased. After the hip replacement done by Dr. Hood, I have no pain, and have resumed all the activities I did years ago. The entire process was excellent. He uses the latest techniques, is detail oriented and thorough, and very focused on his patients. If you need a hip replacement, get Dr. Hood. Thank me later . . .

Everything about my experience with Dr. Mark Hood, his team and Community East Surgical Center was absolutely top drawer! The communication before and after my hip replacement with different members of his team, including the doctor himself, was exceptional if not a bit stunning. I never anticipated my surgeon and his PA would both call me personally to answer any questions and to see how my healing was progressing. I fought hip pain for several years, long mistaking it for Sciatic issues. I went to see Dr. Hood who quickly found it to be a disintegrating left hip. I had a total hip replacement done on Halloween, and by the first of the year I felt better than I had in 9 years.
