Recently I have engaged High Efficiency Cooling and Heating Inc. to install a Carrier high efficiency furnace in my house because the existing Carrier furnace is already 26 years old. The work was completed in professional standard and 100% to my satisfaction. I am particularly impressed with the services provided by the home comfort consultant Charton and technician Mr. Lu. In the appointment meeting Charton was able to carefully explain to me all the details about the Carrier furnace, its price and functionalities, rebate, OPA refund, audit and the need of a curve return boot used to improve the air flow to the furnace. For me to get the Enbridge Gas Air Leaking Incentive, he even offered to help me to buy the weather stripping materials and install them properly at my house. Mr. Lu, a skillful workman, installed the furnace neat and clean at my basement. He could drill holes through the wall with precision and line up the in-take duct and exhaust duct accurately between joists, connect them to the furnace which in turn connects seamlessly to the heating and cooling system of my house. These employees have shown that they are highly competent on their jobs. They are really great assets to the company and I would recommend my friends to use the services of the company in the future.

I was looking at replacing the 20 year old AC and furnace with heat pump system before needing repair and to take advantage of the Greener Home program. I had a couple of quotes that could be called robbery. Charton from HECH was quick to respond and provided a reasonable quote. Although not the lowest, I decided to go with HECH as a friend had used them and was happy with their service. The installation went okay but had a few problems. The installers arrived late, so the work was rushed and together with injury to an installer took about 12 hrs. The installers were diligent but not the most experienced. Having mixed brand of equipment for heat pump and furnace probably added difficulties to the installation. The problems that I had were: water leaks from broken condensation drain valve in the furnace, the original humidifier wiring were pulled and loosen so stop working, and the equipment stack was not installed centered but each offset sloping to the right thus pushing the return duct and humidifier pushed against the water heater potentially fatiguing the wiring from vibration. Charton and HECH were quick to respond to fix the water leak. So far had no response for installers to return to rectify the equipment placement. I didn't call on the humidifier not working but traced and fixed the humidifier wiring myself. After 18 months the cooling stop working. A month ago I had the same problem but it was resolved by restarting the unit. This time it wasn’t resolved. I called service on a holiday and got a reply quickly and an appointment for the next day. The technician Sam came on time and methodically traced the problem to the 4-6 wire converter. Quick and reliable service!

We had installed a Carrier heatpump 2 years ago, and have been having problems with this unit from the first week of install. Sahil was very thorough in helping us resolve the heatpump issue, which seems to be working well so far. I wouldn't recommend a heatpump to anyone; however, I would recommend Sahil, who gave us very good customer service.

Technician Rana did excellent work in replacing the humidifier filter and the furnace filter, in checking the heat pump, in inspecting the furnace and finding a leak in the collector box and in answering my questions about the smart thermostat. Rana performed excellent work and my wife and I are most pleased with the excellent original installation of a furnace, heat pump and water heater performed by High Efficiency & Cooling and their excellent follow-up customer service!

Other installers seemed to be more ready to put in whatever they had in the shop and were not as familiar with their product as High Efficiency. They arrived on time, did the job neatly and quickly and even registered my warranty for me.

High Efficiency Cooling and Heating was the 4th HVAC company we met with. We were very impressed with Charton’s knowledge and expertise in regards to the Carrier Heat Pump System that we were looking to purchase. He clearly explained how the Greener Homes program worked. We booked with Charton within a day and he arranged to have the Energy Advisor come the next day. Kevin was our Energy Advisor for our pre-audit and he was very thorough and honest. Our installation happened 3 days later. Han and Jason were our installers. They showed up on time and were here all day working on installing the Heat Pump, Furnace, Humidifier, and Thermostat. They cleaned up after themselves and Han was very patient setting up the ecobee thermostat and explaining how it works. Kevin returns in 2 days to do the post audit report and will put the paperwork through for our rebate. The warm air has finally arrived and we are ready for it now. Thank you team!
