We were introduced to Doug by way of a positive referral given through my company's employee relocation team. Doug was immediately responsive to our very early exploratory discussions, taking the time to listen to our specific housing needs (and a few desires) and to introduce us to various neighborhoods in and around Vancouver. Doug also helped us to create a specific house search profile online, which would send emails to our attention as soon as properties of potential interest would hit the market. Doug was always very quick to help coordinate viewings at all properties, of even 'potential' interest, and never tired in his efforts throughout our entire search process which lasted more than a year. When we finally viewed a property that checked off the majority of our needs (and a few desires), Doug was quick to facilitate the negotiation and closing processes - keeping us very close in the communication loop throughout the entire journey. It took a while, and perhaps some great patience exercised on Doug's part, but we have finally settled into a beautiful property up in Edgemont, North Vancouver which we are very happy to call "home". We really can’t say enough about just how happy we were with Doug Solbrekken as our realtor! Doug recently helped us sell a condo in Kitsilano. And he was extremely helpful, reliable, always available, professional, and was a great communicator throughout the entire process. Doug initially laid out a sales and marketing strategy that best reflected the property and current market conditions. Once we were in agreement on strategy and price he enthusiastically advertised the sale using multiple online and social media platforms ensuring we had the biggest audience possible. He created an amazing video promoting not only the home but also highlighting many of the local neighborhood attractions. He did this by walking through our neighborhood himself and by creating a segment of the video with his own personal drone (Doug has an advanced drone license for the city of Vancouver and is a previous helicopter pilot and instructor so he’s more than qualified here :-). And then he followed up by offering several open houses. Doug then followed up all of the showings and open houses with phone calls to the other realtors to get their thoughts and feedback. He contacted us frequently to let us know how things were going and what the feedback was on the viewings. He managed our expectations throughout the process and was able to relay the current state of the market in an ongoing manner. He ensured we were a part of the process, and was a strong advocate and agent for us in his communications with other realtors and their potential buyers. Doug guided us through the back-and-forth of the offer and counter-offer process. He always had sound advice based on his extensive knowledge of the real estate market, yet also took a personal approach and really listened to our input, concerns and questions.
And importantly although this was a smaller property compared to other properties he has sold he still brought ALL of his skills, professionalism and enthusiasm to our real estate sale.

All in all Doug was a fantastic realtor! And we would very highly recommend Doug for anyones real estate needs.

I was a first time buyer and had heard many friends' challenging stories -- but in great part thanks to Doug, hunting a new home turned out to be less painful than I'd anticipated. He listened thoughtfully, observed keenly, asked questions - and as it turns out - probably knew what I wanted more quickly than I did. He talked me through the process(es) every step of the way. He was always quick to respond. When we'd go see a place, I soon learned I never had to worry that I wouldn't look or ask about the right things. His interest and experience in real estate shone, as he walked through the apartment looking at and commenting aloud about features/factors I should notice or consider, and asking the other realtor(s) question I may not have known to ask. He was efficient with our time, but never rushed me. When I was ready to make an offer he offered thoughtful strategic advice, and was willing to 'hold my hand' through the inevitable waiting. He's competent, personable, encouraging, and treated me with respect and kindness. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat. You should too.

Doug really was a godsend to us!
